Jayme & Kyle

in San Diego, California

Photographing Kyle and Jayme’s wedding in La Jolla, San Diego was truly special. I first met them a year prior during their engagement session in Angeles National Forest near Los Angeles, so hearing they were planning a coastal wedding in La Jolla had me excited from the start.

The day began cool and cloudy along the La Jolla coastline, setting a calm and serene tone for the celebration. Their ceremony took place at St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, a charming historic church just a block from the ocean. With its wooden ceilings and soft, dim lighting, it created an intimate and emotional space for Kyle and Jayme to exchange their vows.

After the ceremony, we walked across the street to the La Jolla Woman’s Club, where the reception unfolded with dancing, laughter, and moments that felt effortlessly real. From heartfelt speeches to packed dance floors, it was the kind of celebration that reminds me why I love being a Southern California wedding photographer.

It genuinely means a lot to document people like Kyle and Jayme, not just as clients, but as people I’ve had the chance to photograph over time. Being trusted to capture both their engagement session in Los Angeles and their wedding day in San Diego is something I don’t take lightly.

La Jolla is one of the most beautiful places for a wedding in Southern California, and I know I’ll think about this day every time I’m back by the coast. This is easily one of my most memorable wedding days.

La Jolla Woman's Club Wedding Venue in San Diego, California

The La Jolla Woman's Club is one of the most charming and intimate wedding reception venues in San Diego, tucked in the heart of La Jolla just steps from the coast. Known for its classic architecture, manicured grounds, and warm indoor spaces, it's especially well suited for smaller, more personal celebrations where atmosphere and connection take priority over scale.

Many couples pair it with a ceremony at nearby St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, creating a walking distance wedding day that keeps everything close together and lets the energy of La Jolla itself become part of the experience. The combination of coastal light, historic spaces, and the easy walkability of the neighborhood makes for a naturally beautiful and photographically rich day.

As a San Diego and Southern California wedding photographer, La Jolla is one of my favorite areas to shoot. If you're planning a wedding at the La Jolla Woman's Club or anywhere in San Diego, I'd love to document it in a way that actually feels like you.
