Meet your wedding photographer, Alex Lee.

FROM MY SCREEN TO YOURS,
WELCOME TO MY SLICE OF THE WEB!

Alex Lee, wedding photographer based in Los Angeles and Washington, DC.

I’m Alex and I’m so glad that you’re here!

Photos have a magical way of bringing memories to life, letting you relive moments as if they just happened. I want to help you preserve life’s milestones so that 50 years from now, you can relive them with the same clarity and emotion.

Many couples I work with have never worked with a photographer and I welcome it! It’s my job to create a relaxed vibe, understand your vision, and guide you so we can capture not just how great you look, but how incredible you feel.

My style melds film inspired colors and techniques with digital sharpness, creating photos that I hope to be timeless, vibrant, and deeply emotional.

My Approach

To create photos that truly reflect who you are, I take moments as they are with little intervention, and when I do, its to bring out a more natural way of documenting your likeness. My goal is to honor you by capturing the essence that is you. I’m here to create images that authentically reflect the feeling of your wedding day.

For me, the art of wedding photography is much more than capturing the moment but giving you photos that embody genuine connection, that invoke the love and life that surrounds you.

I welcome couples who feel camera-shy, who don’t know where to put their hands, but value feeling over perfection. My approach is gentle direction, never intrusion, because when you’re free to simply exist together, that’s when the magic happens.

My Style

I take pride in my unique colors. It’s combines what I love about the funkiness of film photography and the precision of digital cameras, and uses both traditional and unconventional lighting/camera techniques. I like to think of my style as cinematic!

Growing up, I loved watching movies like Nacho Libre, Juno, 500 Days of Summer, and anything Studio Ghibli or Wes Anderson, because of their powerful use of colors. I think it adds a bit of emotional punch that can really set the vibe of the story.

As someone who is deeply influence by cinema, I emphasis the importance of color grading just as much as shooting. I believe not only does it add to the aesthetic of the day, but gives its a refined signature look.

My Philosophy

At the heart of my work is a belief in duality, the balance between presence and direction, as well as simplicity and unexpected artistry. Some of the most meaningful images happen when you’re fully in the moment, unaware of the camera. Other times, a subtle cue or a composed pose can turn a fleeting glance into a portrait with emotional weight. Photography is the balancing act of having the knowledge of knowing “how” but having the wisdom is having the understanding of “when”.

That same duality guides how I see light. I embrace the beauty of natural light as it falls, soft and imperfect, while also understanding when and how to shape it, adding depth or drama for the sake of the given moment.

My philosophy is simple: to create space where you can be wholly yourselves while I weave together craft, intuition, and years of experience to elevate what unfolds. But above all, kindness is king, connection comes first, and emotion will always matter more than a technically correct photo.

My Work

If a picture is worth a thousand words…

Please feel free to go through my work to make sure that my style of photography right for you. and of course, feel free to reach out with any questions or if just want to say hi! Thank you again for visiting!

Reviews

Alex was fantastic!!! I wanted to work with him after seeing his website, as I loved the color/quality/lighting of his photography. His aesthetic felt different from a lot of what I was seeing in the wedding photography space, which I really appreciated. And then working with him was WONDERFUL. He was so communicative, friendly, and patient with all of our many questions, and so lovely to be around on the day of. I'm grateful and now we have so many gorgeous photos from that day! We also loved having a photobooth, and our guests did too. Last thing: I was kind of on the fence about having a mini video made, to be honest. I don't really use social media so I didn't think I'd care about having one to share. But I have watched our minifilm about one million times now... It really just captured the energy of the day and these sweet little moments in a way that photography can't fully, so I'm really really glad I have that. Anyway, thank you to Alex and his wonderful second photographer as well!

“We had a great experience working with Alex on our wedding day! He’s extremely professional and great at directing shots in ways that make you feel comfortable while also getting the best lighting and angles. We were impressed at his efficiency at directing everyone during our wedding (no easy feat to herd cats!) and we especially loved the candid shots he took of us all!
We had so many compliments on the style of photography, especially the coloring and contrast in our photos. Working with him was very easy from start to finish. We had an initial 20 minute phone consultation, then follow up with specific details, and on the day of he came by a few hours earlier to scout out all the best spots at our venue. His pricing for wedding photography is very reasonable.”

Alex was a fantastic photographer for a large wedding event. We were fortunate to be connected with him through our planner. He was professional, easygoing, and a lot of fun to work with as he guided us through the photoshoot. The photos he took were absolutely incredible and will be cherished memories for our family. Would highly recommend him!
