Invest in making memories that last a lifetime

A black background with a gold diamond outline. Inside, there are gold moon phases and the word 'COCONUT' in stylized gold letters.

My approach to every wedding is simple: to show up fully present, invested, and attentive to the moments that matter. I personally photograph every wedding I take on, bringing a consistent vision, guidance, and genuine care throughout the day. Depending on the coverage selected, I may work alongside a second photographer or videographer, but I remain your primary creative and point of contact from start to finish.

From our first conversation through the delivery of your final gallery, I work directly with you every step of the way. I do not use associate photographers in my place nor do I outsource my editing. Every image you receive is shot and edited by me, which keeps my process consistent and my pricing straightforward. There are no caps on photos received. Because I only photograph one wedding at a time and commit to a limited number of weddings each year, my focus stays where it belongs: on your experience and story. I believe pricing should be transparent, just like my service to you.

All Day Photo Coverage

Most couples booking a wedding photographer 6 to 12 months out have no idea how many hours they actually need. And honestly, why would they? Getting ready, the first look, the ceremony, couples portraits, family photos, cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, dancing, last song, and grand exit. It adds up fast, and it all matters.

This package is for couples who want to hand that math off to someone else. This is my most popular package, with up to 11 hours of continuous coverage, shot entirely by me. No handoffs to an associate photographers. No watching the clock. Just the same eye and consistency from start to finish. Wedding photography made plain and simple.

Everything included in Essential Photo Coverage, plus:

  • Up to 11 hours of continuous photography coverage if needed

  • Natural timeline flexibility so nothing feels rushed or cut short

  • No travel charge for additional locations within photo coverage timeframe

Engagement Session

Engagement sessions run 40~80 minutes, depending on light, location, and how adventurous you want to be. We’ll plan the timing and location together, with simple direction that keeps things natural and comfortable. It’s the perfect warm up so wedding day portraits feel easy and effortless.

Proposals typically last around 30 minutes. We’ll plan everything in advance from timing to positioning, so the moment feels effortless and genuine. I’ll stay discreet (hiding in a tree or passing like a tourist with a camera) and capture the surprise as it unfolds. After the big “yes,” we’ll ease into a short engagement session to celebrate the moment. Champagne optional!

FAQ

  • My packages start at $3,200 for essential photo coverage, with all day photo and video coverage at $5,400. Travel within 100 miles of LAX or DCA is always included.

To put that in context: mid-range wedding photographers in Los Angeles typically fall between $3,000 and $5,000 for 8 hours of coverage, and couples in the Mid-Atlantic region, which includes Washington DC, spend more on wedding photography than anywhere else in the country, with the regional average being around $5,000 for 8 hours of coverage. My starting rate sits at the entry point of that mid-range bracket in Los Angeles and just below the DC regional average, reflecting a level of service, consistency, value, and personal involvement that most photographers at this price point simply do not offer.

Every wedding I take on, I shoot myself. I pride myself in having no associate photographers, so no surprises when it comes to the consistency of my work. You get direct access to me from inquiry through gallery delivery, unlimited planning calls, and a photographer who stays fully invested in your timeline and story from start to finish.

If you are looking for something more custom, whether a micro wedding, an elopement, or a destination event, reach out and we can build something that fits.

  • Most couples I work with have never had a professional photo session before. That is actually one of the most common things I hear. What sets me apart as a Los Angeles and Washington DC wedding photographer is not just technical skill (though I am finding myself on the path of being a wedding photographer educator). It is the ability to make people feel genuinely at ease in front of the camera so the moments captured feel real, not staged.

I personally photograph every wedding I take on. No associates, no surprises. Just me, fully invested from your first inquiry through gallery delivery. I also limit how many weddings I take on each year, which means when you book, you have my full attention.

  • Reach out through the contact page or send me an email and we will set up a time to talk. I want to hear about your vision, your venue, and what matters most to you before anything is signed. To officially reserve your date, I require a signed contract and a $1500 nonrefundable retainer. Once that is done, your date is locked and I turn away all other inquiries for that day.

  • Absolutely. I split my time between Los Angeles, California and the Washington DC area, including Maryland and Virginia. I cover most venues across greater LA, the San Fernando Valley, the South Bay, Orange County, and across the DMV at no extra charge, up to 100 miles from LAX or DCA.

For destinations beyond that, I split travel costs with the couple to keep things fair. And for the right wedding somewhere truly once in a lifetime, I have been known to get pretty generous with travel fees.

  • You are not alone, and you are in the right place. Most couples I photograph have never done a professional session before. My job is not to make you perform for the camera, its to make you look like your authentic self! so what ends up in your gallery actually looks and feels like you.

  • Alex Lee Photography partners with La Brea Photo Booth Co., a Los Angeles based photo booth company that builds fully custom designs from scratch to match your wedding invitation, color palette, and theme. It is a great way to give your guests a keepsake that feels personal rather than generic. You can learn more at labreaphotobooth.com.

  • Yes. I carry liability insurance and can provide proof upon request. Many venues across Los Angeles and Washington DC require this before allowing a vendor on site, so just let me know if your venue needs documentation ahead of time.

  • Of course. I love when couples share inspiration or flag specific moments they want captured. I do ask that you keep my style in mind since some shots depend on specific lighting or timing that may not always be possible on the day. I cannot guarantee every request, but I will make a real effort.

  • I typically deliver around 600 photos for 8 hours of coverage, though I have gone well over 100 per hour at times. With a second photographer added, expect an additional 20 to 40 photos per hour. Everything is delivered in full resolution with no watermarks and full download and sharing rights.

  • For photos, generally 4 to 8 weeks from your wedding date, depending on the season. For video, generally 6 to 10 weeks from your wedding date. As a thank you, I typically send a small preview of 10 to 15 images within 3 days of your wedding.

  • In the unlikely event of a genuine emergency, I have a network of trusted photographers I can call on to step in. These are people whose work I know and whose professionalism I can vouch for. I would never leave you without coverage.

That said, this is also one of the reasons I keep my client list small and book only one wedding at a time. My schedule is never overextended, which means the chances of a last minute conflict are as low as they can possibly be. When you book with me, your date is the only date I have.

If you have further questions about how I handle contingencies, just reach out and I am happy to talk through it.
