Jenna & Wyatt
When Jenna and Wyatt reached out to plan their Santa Monica engagement session, they knew exactly the vibe they were looking for and knew exactly where to go: Barney’s Beanery. This classic spot isn’t just a fun bar, it’s their bar. It’s where they created so many memories over casual drinks and late-night laughs just a few blocks from the beach.
As a Los Angeles based engagement photographer, I always love when couples choose locations that mean something to them. Whether it’s their favorite beach or a dive bar, the best engagement photos are always about more than just the setting. They’re about the story.
Barney’s Beanery in Santa Monica gave us so much to work with. Neon signs, arcade games, pool tables, vintage decor. It all created the perfect backdrop for something both fun and personal. Jenna and Wyatt didn’t need much direction. They were completely in their element, laughing, reminiscing, even dancing a little between photos. It felt more like hanging out with old friends than a photo session.
We wrapped with a quick walk around the surrounding streets in Santa Monica just before golden hour hit. It was the perfect mix of grit, light, and warmth, so much like Jenna and Wyatt themselves.
If you’re planning your own engagement session in Los Angeles or looking for a unique spot like Barney’s Beanery for engagement photos, I’d love to help bring your story to life.
Barney's Beanery in Santa Monica, California
Los Angeles Engagement Photography
Barney's Beanery is one of the most iconic bars in Los Angeles, known for its neon signs, vintage decor, pool tables, and decades of history along Santa Monica Blvd. For couples who want an engagement session that actually reflects who they are rather than just where they are, it's the kind of location that creates instant character and context in every frame.
Indoor sessions like this one offer a completely different energy from the typical outdoor engagement shoot. The warm, layered lighting, the textures of the space, and the natural comfort that comes from being somewhere familiar all contribute to photos that feel genuine rather than staged.
As a Los Angeles engagement photographer, I love sessions that tell a real story. If you're planning engagement photos anywhere in Los Angeles, whether it's a bar, a beach, a park, or somewhere completely unexpected, I'd love to make it feel like you.
